Growing up in the mountains of Southern California, Jake Powell cultivated a deep appreciation for the natural world. He turned his love of the outdoors into a passion for travel and adventure, and he has been able to live in Wyoming and teach in Costa Rica. He knew he was home when he settled in Marin Country, California, in 2014 with his wife, daughter, and rescue dog. He understands what makes Marin special, and he loves living and working in this unique community.
After graduating from California State Polytechnic University, Humboldt as a history major, Jake launched a lifelong career in teaching. His unique perspectives on economics, history, and language arts, along with a distinct enthusiasm for learning, have impacted students’ lives for over 20 years.
As a real estate agent, Jake found another avenue to connect with the community. His genuine joy in following the local real estate market means he could tell you what houses sold last week and what local trends are currently impacting the market. Jake understands his clients’ needs, and he shares his enthusiasm to bring excitement to the challenging process of homebuying and selling.
When he isn’t searching for homes or teaching, he can be found spending as much time outside as possible. He’s often swimming, paddleboarding, mountain biking, or hiking with his family. Living along the tidal Gallinas Creek allows him and his family to hike San Pedro Mountain, bike at China Camp State Park, and explore. He is a regular at the Osher Marin Jewish Community Center, where he enjoys his favorite exercise — swimming in the saltwater pool.
