Winding down the year

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving. I was truly overwhelmed with gratitude this year for all things big and small. For family and friendships, the ability to learn and grow, communities that inspire positive change and growth, for little stolen moments in the woods, and for the beautiful first sips of coffee in the morning.  As I write this, I’m relishing in some quiet down time. Marin sure does clear out on holiday weekends and it feels brighter, less rushed, peaceful, and gorgeous. The sun sets just right, the air is crisp and the birds are singing.  Facebook this weekend was also full of love and thanks; a lot less grumbling over the news, a ton more happiness and joy.  If only, this feeling could carry into the rest of the year and yet, there’s no reason that it couldn’t.

I read a cool article on Medium today and thought I’d share it with you.  In a nutshell, it was about the need to change your online passwords from time to time and changing it from an annoying inconvenience to a memorable life changing affirmation.  Genius. Passwords are increasingly becoming more complicated, presumably to stop even the most intelligent hackers from infiltrating our security.  In real estate, we need to be sure that we’re protecting our information and the security of our clients. Uppercase, lowercase, 8 characters, use a special character and a number…  and definitely don’t use the same password for banking as you would for your Nike fit app.  So for example, if I want to sell 20 homes in 2018, I could use Sel!20Home$ as my password.  Or G0veg@n! for my current distaste for animal protein.  wak3Up@5 for my desire to get up early and Luv0nM0M! because sometimes I just lack patience.  For more on this… https://medium.com/@uxmomo/how-a-password-changed-my-life-7af5d5f28038

If you missed Mark Machado, 2018 MAR President’s call for volunteers, it’s not too late.  Click http://marincountyrealtors.com/index.php?src=gendocs&ref=committee-volunteer&link=committee-volunteer When you give your time and ideas to your REALTOR community, you are helping us work towards positive collective change.  What you receive out of the experience will be enriching. This community has impacted my life by gaining access to the brightest professionals in our field; much smarter than I am for sure. MAR staff is full of positivity, I get to receive information that is in the forefront of our industry, and forge deeper relationships with my colleagues. Plus it’s fun and important to be involved in the business of my business. Your participation can be small or great and I would encourage you to just say yes to any part of it.

The MAR Installation luncheon is next Tuesday, December 5th.  If you haven’t purchased your tickets, please do so HERE.  Mark and his Leadership team will be installed and we have some fun in store.  We’ll also be picking the winners of 3 fantastic prizes from all of you who turned in your surveys.  Thank you so much for taking the time to give us feedback.  We’ll be reaching out in the next few weeks to those of you who wished to hear back from us.
