Here we are - Thanksgiving week.  A fitting time to express gratitude although in my opinion, there’s no reason why this week should be different than any other.  I spent my weekend at my favorite conference, the Best Year Ever Blueprint down in San Diego. Words cannot describe the inspiration that I was surrounded by, the community that I felt, the sense of greater purpose that came over me and the gratitude that overwhelmed me.  The clarity in which I realized that my real estate business, as much as I love my work and what I do every day was not directly tied into my purpose on this planet.  However, I’m immensely thankful for the opportunities that it’s given me to provide comfort and stability to my family, relationships with my wonderful clients and the camaraderie that’s been created with the MAR Board, staff and my colleagues all over this County. I’m grateful for the opportunities to travel and network with committed, passionate minds across the State who take the business of real estate seriously. To have exposure and input and hopefully a voice that you can relate to; despite the variety of topics that I choose to write or speak about on any given week.  Thank you for reading, thank you for your encouragement and thank you for not being too harsh in your criticism.

It’s time to goal set for 2018, a process that I’m both excited and terrified by. Knowing that my personal goals for 2017 were set low because I thought that perhaps being President of MAR was going to be enough of a challenge. I spent the year getting efficient, taking care to rest, and focused on my family and health this year. 2018 is going to be the year where I get back out of my comfort zone, drive harder, and have some breakthroughs.  I’m looking forward to every minute.  Hal Elrod, the author of the Miracle Morning and one of the creators of this weekend’s conference said, “Where you are is a result of who you are. Where you go will be a result of who you choose to become.”  My hope is that every one of you sets a real estate goal for 2018 and that you measure, track, and shatter it.  I also hope that you set health, mind/spirit, family/friend, and contribution goals as well.  Write them down, post them somewhere that you can see daily, and get an accountability partner or a coach to hold your feet to the fire.  Reach out anytime to chat about it; I love hearing about what you’ll have to look forward to next year and beyond. Hope you stuff yourselves silly on Thanksgiving; just go heavier on the brussel sprouts and take a smaller piece of pie.
